Story
Noémi Győri and Katalin Koltai started playing together
in 2002, during their first year of study at the Music Academy
of Budapest. They studied chamber music with prof. Balázs
Arnóth and Géza Hargitai.
They also attended numerous chamber music masterclasses
and festivals, amongst others, the courses of Rita Wagner,
György Vashegyi, Craig Goodman, László Hadady and
Daniel Blumenthal.
Noémi Győri and Katalin Koltai also gave several concerts
together in Hungary, as well as abroad. In 2004 they were
selected to be participants of the Thy Chamber Music Festival
in Denmark.
In 2005 they gave a concert in the Hungarian House in Brussels,
and also in the Royal Conservatory. They performed at various
concerts at the Music Academy of Budapest and in other concert
halls in Hungary.
In their repertoir, besides the well-known original pieces written
for guitar-flute duos, there are numerous transcripts of their own.
Amongst these, there are several sonatas of Haydn and Mozart.
Apart from these, their duo takes great pleasure in playing works
of contemporary composers.
